Zendaya Makes History As Youngest Two-Time Emmy Winner

American actress Zendaya has made history by being the youngest actor so far to win two Emmy Awards.

The 26-year-old actor, who played the troubled teen Rue Bennett in HBO’s Euphoria,

won the prestigious Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award.

Zendaya then gave a moving acceptance speech in which she expressed her “biggest dream” for the coming-of-age drama

and discussed how the fans’ openness to her has motivated her both on and off the set.

‘My greatest wish for Euphoria was that it could help heal people,’ said the former Disney Channel star, who appeared to be holding back tears as she looked out on the crowd of her peers.

‘I want you to know that anyone who has loved a Rue or feels like they are a Rue, I want you to know that I am so grateful for your stories.

‘And I carry them with me, and I carry them with her.’

According to Variety, she is the first Black woman in history to win the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award twice

in addition to being the youngest-ever two-time honoree.

Zendaya wore a voluminous black Valentino gown and Bulgari jewels to accept the prize.

Zendaya won her first Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy in 2020 for her work in Euphoria’s first season.
