Naira Marley Fined 200,000 for Flouting Lockdown Order in June

Singer Naira Marley and his manager has been fined a sum of N200,000 for breaking lockdown order in June

Recall that the singer jetted from Lagos to Abuja to hold a concert that had over 50persons in attendance

Not only did Naira Marley break the interstate travel ban, but also flouted the Lockdown order of not more than 20persons gathering in a place

Meanwhile, the Minister of the FCT has promised to prosecute the singer Naira Marley for his behavior

well after almost 2months of stating that concerning the soapy crooner, the government has finally prosecuted the singer

The  Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court, Oshodi has now fined singer Naira Marley

and his manager N200, 000 for flouting the ban on interstate travels in June.

However A statement from the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana,

said the singer was arraign alongside his Manager Seyi Awouga on a one-count charge of

”breach of the cessation of movement and interstates travel order

made by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

under Regulation 4(i) of the Lagos State Infectious Disease Emergency Prevention)

Regulation No 2 of 2020 and committed an offence

punishable under Section 58 Public Health Law, Ch. P16, Laws of Lagos State 2015”

Furthermore When the charge was read to them, Naira Marley and his manager pleads guilty

and were also awardd a fine of one hundred thousand naira each by the presiding Magistrate.
