Army Reintegrates 603 repentant Boko Haram

As the nation continues to struggle with Covid19 and the constant killings by insurgents, the Nigerian Military has announced they 603 repentant Boko Haram Fighters

Will be reintegrate into the system and sent back home to their communities by July

Recall that few months ago, the senate sign into Law a rehabilitation program for repentant Boko Haram

these men will be set free and also undergo some treatments

Now the Military says they have been Un-radicalize and are free to go back home

Director of Defence Media Organization (DMO) Major General John Enenche

states that operation safe corridor, established in 2016,

has admitted a total of 893 ex Boko Haram fighters.

Enenche further adds: “The Operation is a success story as feedbacks from those reintegrated are positive.

“A particular one in Bama who learnt barbing as a vocation

has successfully empower four locals and is happily marry with children.”

Furthermore, Enenche notes that de-radicalization Of the repentant boko Haram is the first stage of the programme after medical screening,

including taking of DNA sample is conduct.

He also lists other processes involves before admitting the candidates into the training

And also to include psychotherapy, psycho-spiritual counseling, drug abuse intervention,

art therapy, sports/recreation and introduction to western education to counter the BHT ideology.
