Nollywood Indigenous actor Olanrewaju James, Popularly known as Baba Ijesha
Has been convicted by A special Offences court in Lagos
And sentenced to 16yrs in Prison
Baba Ijesha was on Thursday July 14, convicted of indecent treatment of a child,
sexual assault, and attempted sexual assault in a 2-hour judgement.Â
He was however discharge and acquitted of count one and count six,
which were: sexual assault by penetration and attempted sexual assault by penetration.

However, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo who held
that the prosecution failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt
that Baba Ijesha is guilty of all the charges against him, sentenced him to 16 years imprisonment
Meanwhile, recall that Baba Ijesha was detain on April 22, 2021,
after the Lagos State Police Command announced his arrest
for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the care of commediene Princess.
Described as one of the most talked about celebrity court cases ever in Nigeria,
several pieces of evidence laid before the court
on how the actor sexually assaulted the young child.
In a country where all Nigerians have lost hope in the Legal and judicial System, can we say that Justice has finally prevailed?
